Hobbledown

One of kids' requests this trip was that we go back to Hobbledown.  It's such a fun park that I didn't mind doing a repeat trip.  We've since read the story book we purchased last year so now everything makes a little more sense.

Rumpletump at the entrance.

Inside the acorn swing.  This time Daxton was actually excited about being there too.

Hello Cambrie!

We picked a great weather day to go.  Last year it was so hot the kids just didn't last very long, and these bouncing pillows were too hot to enjoy.  This year the kids just jumped and jumped!

Onto the climbing playground.  The kids took off in every direction ready to explore every nook, cranny, tunnel and tower.

I hung out with Daxton was and was super impressed that he was brave enough to chase after his siblings.  The biggest problem he had was that his feet were so small that sometimes his shoes would slip through the cages.  He came up with some pretty creative ways to avoid that.  My favorite was when he chose to sit on my lap.  The only way I can get through those tunnels is by sitting down and using my arms to kind of pull me along from up above.  It's a bulky little scoot but very effective.

This visit the underground tunnels were open too.  The kids said that they were really dark down there.  The big kids didn't mind but Daxton wanted nothing to do with the darkness.  They wound all throughout the playground area and it was fun seeing where they'd pop up after disappearing down a hole.

We wandered farther this trip too to the Fields of Confusion.  We found a zipline that was just right for everyone in the family to enjoy.

We also found these zorb balls that were a blast.  The girls could really make theirs cruise.

Kelton was pretty good too but had to be on the smaller course.  His favorite thing to do was to run it up the hill, then run down as fast as he could.  When he hit the bank at the bottom he would tumble all around inside the ball.

Inside the willow maze we found tunnels and little homes perfect for hobblers.

More fun!  The sand pit.  There was an entire building filled with sand: buckets, shovels, balls, a little hobbler kitchen, and so much more.

The girls found a pair of sisters that they played with in the kitchen for awhile.  After they left, Cambrie told me that the little girl had always wanted to meet someone from America.

The kids just kept playing, I really thought that they might just drop suddenly having all of the fun squeezed out of them.  One last potty break took us past the indoor play barn, which meant more playing!  (Although it doesn't look like I had the energy needed to take any more pictures of the kids by this point.)  It's a great labyrinth of padded slides, ladders, and passageways.  Last year because it was so hot, this was where the kids spent most of their time.  This year we had to cut it short, but it was still awesome.   Not surprisingly, it was a quiet drive home as the kids rested from the great afternoon.
