Dyrholaey Viewpoint

No waterfall at this stop, just views of the ocean cliffs.  The name of this viewpoint literally means, "the hill island with the door hole."  There were a series of arches in the base of these cliffs.  Some of the access roads were closed to the lighthouse on top, but we were still able to see some great views.

Run and wiggle Dax!

This would be a great place for a picnic on a warm and sunny day.

Dyrhólaey Memories

Daxton: The lookout was fun.  I got some good pictures.

Annette: We had to come up with a solution to keep track of everyone's gloves.  Sticking them up in the window worked great, and then they were warm when we needed them.

Jeremy: That was where you told the weirdest story in the world. I will always remember that beach was when mom told a story about circling the dead, drinking the mucus and blood, reading bad poetry, and putting a coin in the dead man’s scrotum and then, Bam! The ghost is yours!
