Kayaking Bear River

My mom decided that we should pull out Jenny's and Camille's kayaks one day and take the kids down to Bear River.  It was really nice.  It wasn't too hot.  It wasn't too hard.  And the kids were able to have a quiet day on the river.  McKenzie and Kelton were given their own kayaks.

McKenzie did a great job navigating hers the whole trip.

Kelton did pretty well for awhile, and then decided it was too much work.  He eventually found ways to tag along behind other kayaks and have them pull him around.

Daxton thought the peaceful pace was perfect for him.

He hung out with me for awhile in my kayak, and then ended up tied behind my mom.

"Where did Kelton go?" you might ask.  Well, his favorite place was hanging on the back of my kayak and I dragged him through the river.  He is not aerodynamically designed.

McKenzie and my mom enjoyed paddling towards the shore to go exploring.

Their favorite find was a bunch of cattails.  The older ones were perfect for releasing fluff and so we naturally used them in chicken wars!  The fluff stuck to our wet arms, and kayaks, turning us all into chickens.  It was a grand battle and I'm pretty sure McKenzie won, I was pretty fluffy by the end.
