Christmas Concerts

It has been a season of orchestra concerts!  Luckily our girls have incredible conductors who have taught them well, which means that it's a lot more enjoyable for us to listen to.  McKenzie chose to play bass this year and has really enjoyed it.  It's bigger than she is, but she doesn't seem to mind.  When we sat down for her middle school concert I did not have high expectations.  I don't know if was simply because their instruments were in tune, or if Mrs. Dunford is a miracle worker, but I actually enjoyed their concert!

McKenzie likes this class even more because she shares it with Shaila who has been one of her constant friends for this middle school transition.

Cambrie had the opportunity to play at the mall one afternoon with her orchestra.  So I spent an afternoon enjoying an unexpected Christmas concert.

When it was time for their school concert there was some overlap of their songs, but they had done such a great job that I didn't mind at all.  Since she plays cello she sits right at the edge of the orchestra, which makes her really easy to find during her concerts.  It very convenient.  She has a new love for her instrument this year and I love hearing the pride she takes in playing.  Great job girls!  I love hearing you both play.
