We got back from Utah just in time to celebrate this girl's birthday! She is 11 years old, and I can't believe it. She is going to be in middle school next year! She's going to be going to YW next year! She's growing up and it's so weird! At least she's growing up to be a responsible, kind, happy person so I can't complain about that at all. She has a birthday party planned for later in the week, so the day of her actual birthday was fairly quiet. We began the day with delicious birthday donuts. Pink with sprinkles of course!
She was also greeted by the longest balloon banner ever. We called it her big pink slug. It hung all the way down the hallway. We eventually moved it to hand down (and up again) from the chandelier above the stairs.
The lucky girl got to stay in her jammies all day, and when it came time to open her presents before heading out the door to gymnastics, she was still nice and cozy. She got some fun gifts this year: new roller blades that glow, and a tumble track for her gymnastics tumbling routines. She almost has an entire gym in the basement. I guess that's one positive outcome from covid-19.
She and Cambrie took their rollerblades out for a test ride. They looked like they were having a blast out there, even though it was so cold!
Her birthday wasn't done that day though, I was delayed baking her little cakes so she got to celebrate the next day too with snowflake cakelets. Happy birthday sweetheart!
