Murder Mystery
This weekend we went to a murder mystery dinner at the Farnsworths. I've been to parties like this before and they are always a ton of fun. I think the best part is seeing everyone act their parts. We have some really creative friends-just look at our group picture. Aren't they awesome?!
This story was about a young, rich, and spoiled girl named Desire Love (me), who is murdered. We had to figure out who the murderer was based on ex-lovers, international diamond smuggling, under appreciated servants, love triangles, blood and organ transplant traffic, and undercover FBI agents. It was great. (By the way, it was the maid in the bathroom, with her strangling hands).
Jeremy was Fred DeToy, Desire's current boyfriend. He's dressed as a wizard (it was set as a masquerade ball). Because I died pretty early on, I was two characters. My second character was the investigator who arrives on the scene to help solve the crime, Sugar and Spice. Thanks everyone for the very entertaining evening.

Happy Halloween
This year we celebrated in fairy tale style. Cambrie was Little Red Riding Hood, Jeremy was the Big Bad Wolf, and I was granny.
As much as I wanted it to happen, Cambrie just wouldn't smile for the camera!
Cambrie got to go trick-or-treating twice. Once at the ward party and once Halloween night. She liked carrying around her basket, but didn't understand why people were putting candy in it.
Trick-or-Treat!
(you can see Hailey and Ashlyn through the window, excited to see Cambrie)
Jeremy and I made a bat pinata in honor of the holiday. It was fun watching the girls (Hailey, Ashlyn, and Cambrie) hit it with the baseball bat. They had a really good time.
Quick girls, grab it!
Here's a picture of Cambrie with her friends, Thing One and Thing Two, and their mom, Dr. Seuss. It was good Halloween.

Phillies Fever
I'm exhausted. Today the city held a parade for our World Champion Phillies and at the last minute I decided it was something that we had to do. This is a rare opportunity. They don't have a major league baseball team in Utah and this may be our only chance to see a championship team. Cambrie and I ran out the door this morning to join serious fans, Amy, Libby and Ben, on the train downtown. Little did we know that the trains hadn't been stopping at the Shawmont station since 8:00 this morning because they were already full. After looking at the other options of the bus, driving, and the subway, we opted for the subway. We piled into Amy's car and drove to Temple University to catch the subway there. Five full trains passed before we were able to squeeze in safely and snugly with the thousands of other fans. I'm glad Cambrie isn't claustrophobic.
Once we found our place on the parade route, the kids were already done. Ben was asleep in the carrier, Libby wanted to take a nap, and Cambrie just kept begging for "nigh, nigh." Cambrie is really stubborn and won't fall asleep in my arms. Instead she laid down on the ground and tried to sleep there. I let her. Am I a horrible mom?
The parade was great. They had all of the players and their families on double-decker buses and semi-trailer rigs. There was ticker tape flying through the air, blow horns blowing, and pennants waving. It was really a cool atmosphere. One of the players was holding the trophy high above his head. It was bigger and shinier than I expected. I never thought I'd actually get to see one of those! So even though I'm so worn out from the day's adventure, I'm really glad we went. Maybe Cambrie will even forgive me for making sure she experienced this :)

Did it!
Cambrie is a little talker. She talks and talks and talks. Thankfully I understand most of what she's saying, and it's so much fun to communicate with her. She says a lot of cute things, but I just want to share some of her "Did it!" moments. When Cambrie accomplishes something she gets really excited. Sometimes she claps her hands, she smiles all the time, and occasionally we hear, "Did it!"
Today she put the lid back on the milk carton. She smiled at me and cried, "Did it!"
We were pushing her truck around outside and when she finished pushing it to the top of the hill she threw her hands in the air and yelled, "Did it!"
Over the weekend she helped me clean up her toys. She put a book on the shelf, clapped her hands, and said, "Did it!" to no one in particular.
She grabbed Jeremy's hat and put it on her head. While she was looking for me underneath the rim, all I could see was her little mouth saying, "Did it!"
I'm just glad she's confident :)

Pumpkin painting
Cambrie's perfect little pumpkin has been sitting on our porch for the last few weeks just begging to be decorated. Thanks to the constant rain today, it finally got its wish. I got out the finger paints, put a bib on Cambrie and hoped I wasn't making a big mistake. As soon as I showed Cambrie how to put her fingers in the paint then rub them on the pumpkin, she was in heaven.
She really enjoyed it until she decided to see if the paint tasted as good as it looked. Her face explains everything.
We rinsed out her mouth and tried to get her excited about painting again, but she was done. I'm actually surprised that the paint only ended up in her mouth and not in her hair, on the walls, over her face, on the chair, or on me. I would consider that a successful finger painting session. Here is her completed pumpkin. I admit that I helped her with the face, but she was excited to see the eyes and mouth.
